And The Great Waaagh! Begins...

Hello my friends! During the entire week we have been flooded with more and more information about the new Orruks. Today I bring you a summary of which was released during the week and what to expect for the next days ... get ready for the Great Waagh!, mainly on your wallet.

Gordrakk, the Fist of Gork, leads the Ironjawz on their Great Waaagh!

This week, WD has a lingering look at Gordrakk, (the guy above) – a great green tide washes over the mortal realms as the Ironjawz make their presence felt. There’s a Megaboss on Maw-krusha, Orruk Brutes and Orruk Goregruntas, an Orruk Megaboss and a Weirdnob Shaman for you to have a look at. Oh, and an Orruk Warchanter. And the Orruk ‘Ardboys, and more!

Next WD issue... is Green!!!

There’s also the usual look at the rest of the week’s releases (there’s a Battletome. It’s Orruksome!), a Paint Splatter featuring Brutes and Gore-gruntas, Hat of the Week (no, really) and the usual comment, opinion and reaction from Da Week In White Dwarf. But lets go to what matters:

Products & Prices

So, there’s Orruks and more this week gamers. Grab your wallets and get ready to meet the forces of Destruction!

Prices via Archibald_TK
  • Maw-Krusha (1 model) 90€ / £65 / $110 (Comes with either a Megaboss or Gordrakk the Fist of Gork on top. Apparently the Krusha itself has two heads options. Few aesthetic differences overall.);
  • Gore-Gruntas (3 models) 67€ / £48 / $79 (Huge Boar riders. They are… different? You have to see them for yourselves but I fear they will not be that well received. It appears that those are not 3 different models, but two, one of them being repeated twice. No weapons options and they really all look similar.);
  • Brutes (5 models) 42€ / £30 / $50 (Heavier than Black Orcs, can be built with either two weapons or a two handed one.);
  • Megaboss 34€ / £24 / $40;
  • Weirdnob Shaman 28€ / £20 / $33;
  • Warchanter 26€ / £18.5 / $30;
  • Ardboys (15 models) 45€ / £32 / $53 (Repackaged Black Orcs with round bases.);
  • Battletome Ironjawz (128p) 28€ / £20 / $33 (14 Warscrolls and Battalions);
  • Grand Alliance Destruction (112p) 14€ / £10 / $16.5 (12 factions, 61 Warscrolls, minus at least 7 for the Ironjaws that’s 54 remaining for the old range, place your bets.);
  • New Citadel Dice $8.25 20 dice available in blue, green, red, grey, white and black.

Yellow Black Orcs... because why not...

And there it is the last Grand Alliance book – just as expected. It’s £10, about the same price as Grand Alliance Death, so I would expect it to be another skinny one. That rounds out all the 4 great factions of Age of Sigmar. I’m sure there will be a couple weeks of new minis, and the announcement of the last set of old Warhammer Fantasy miniature cancellations coming along shortly...

Personally I'm more interested in getting immediately the Battletome in order to give a view in the new formations and to assess the strength of this army as a whole ... For now we have some of the rules (see here) which can be seen in detail in the new WD, which will bring 7 warscrolls ... speaking of the battletome:

Age of Sigmar: Battletome Ironjaws Contents

Battletome Ironjawz’ complete contents are revealed . Come see the strangely familiar clans of the Orruks.

Is that supose to be a Power Klaw in his left arm?!

First up the table of contents:

What you see is what you get...

Clocking in at 128pp, Battletome Ironjaws is on the thinner side of the Age of Sigmar releases... Overall, these price points aren’t too shabby. The books sizes are also interesting. Grand Alliance: Destruction is 112 pages, Battletome: IronJawz is 128 pages and Realmgate Wars: Fury of Gork is 208 pages (I think, it’s a little 'ard to read).

But... do Orcs even read?

What I’m curious about is the contents of each book. There isn’t a ton of info to go off of based on the blurbs. From the looks of things Destruction will have all of the old units and IronJawz will have a lot of the newer units. Fury of Gork will probably have all the news back story for the IronJawz as well as some new scenarios pushing the story forward. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…

The Teaser:

“Dakka Dakka Dakka Dakka! Zzap, Kapow, Krakoooooooom!”

Do you think there are more forces of Destruction on the way? Or maybe the 40k Orks are coming back to, you know, not be lag behind their fantasy cousins... Speaking about 40k, check this news, partly related to Orcs!

And a Last Minute Extra: New Age of Sigmar FAQ!

Get in here Age of Sigmar Fans – GW just put out a new FAQ for the game – and a hint of what is to come for 40K.

via Age of Sigmar(facebook)

This one has 19 pages of clarifications and rulings for all the game’s phases and factions. Exactly why they put it out as a set of 19 pages instead of a PDF is a mystery…

Some standouts are:
  • Rules for models being discontinued will continue to be available and legal.
  • You CAN shoot into combats.
  • Line of Sight is not required for pile-in moves.

And ton’s more…

Get in there and tell us what you think. They also said the updated 40K FAQs should be along next week!

Well, I reckon that's all for now from my part... Thank you for your time and hoping to write to you soon.
