Funny of the Day...

So, in the meanwhile, I decided to bring back some humour to this Blog, with some memes that I've done in the past and, for today, joining Warhammer with another fiction like: Game of Thrones, here is a new section in Plastic Kingdoms... Now enjoy and if you have ideas or suggestions please tell me!

New Bases, New Terrain ... a New Ground?

Hello my friends! GW closes out their fiscal year with a week of strong hobby products and one intriguing teaser for next week and also a (possible?) list for the next 6 months... Stay tunned!

Insert the deep breath before the plunge quote here...

Remember this (not soo) old gem?

Remember the old Imperialis Basing Kit...

You won't believe what Games Workshop is making now! This could be the most forward thinking idea from the lads at Nottingham yet, come see!

Wow Sixty Bases??? That’s like a whole army’s worth!

$33 for 60 bases? That’s about 50 cents a base for some sweet textured goodness! And notice the details!

Much Grim Dark, Very Bases!

Wow, GW is coming out of nowhere with some great ideas for the hobby (and not that bad for our wallets). This is such a great idea that has been coming for a long time. Kudos to GW for making it easy to base (or re-base) your armies now, in a fraction of the time.

Hopefully we’ll see more base sizes in a future (or this release) because let’s face it, there are more bases to the game than just 32mm ... right? Of course there will be much more: check next week's releases list:

This Week’s Products and Prices

Round 32mm Basing Kit (x60 $33 ~ 26€)
Large Basing Kit (contains bits to for standard bases - $33 ~ 26€)
Oval Basing Kit 60mm 75mm, and 90mm ($33 ~ 26€)
Round Basing Kit 25mm, and 40mm Bases ($33 ~ 26€)

Soo much goodness... soo little money...

New Layers, Technical and Glosses

  • Metal Layer Paints ($5.75  ~ 4,5€ each)
  • Gemstone Paints ($4.25 ~ 3,3€ each)
  • Gloss Shades ($7.25 ~ 6€ each)

And next week’s teaser...

“Master of Machines, Lord of the Brood and Crate Expectations”

That sounds like Adeptus Mechanicus and Genestealer Cult to me… and the crates? maybe they're talking about these:

Those Armored Containers aren’t just for show – they are coming with unique rules

After the big tease earlier this week about these new Armored Container Kits, we now have a bit more info (and some better pics!) Let’s take a look:

Spikey Bits is also reporting the following:

An industry insider tells Spikey Bits that this new kit was to retail for $33, and will indeed have rules.  It will also contain the following components :
  • 3 Armored Containers
  • 9 Promethium barrels
  • 6 large supply crates
  • 6 small supply crates
Furthermore all new terrain kits and sets will come with rules datasheets moving forward (just like how existing terrain already has datasheets in the BRB and Stronghold Assault).

So the container rules are pretty interesting! The Ammo Dumps have a nice boost for your shooting units as well – re-rolling failed To Hit rolls of 1 is nice. But really, did you see the Fuel Drum rules? Here’s the important part:
"Any Flamer weapon (as defined in the Warhammer 40,000: The Rules) fired by a non-vehicle model within 2″ of a fuel drum in the shooting phase can change it’s weapon type from assault to heavy, or from pistol to heavy. If it does so, the weapon gains the Torrent special rule until the end of that phase."

Or Nids ...

Now it is a fortification… If you don’t just want to use them as generic “Terrain Bits” (or awesome basing fodder) you can buy 1 Container, 4 Crates and 3 barrels for 40 points. All of this for about with an ebay price of £20!!!! yes please! This could be a fun addition to any armies that may want to Drop Pod in shoot Torrent Flamers everywhere.

The contents of the box...

Finally, yet another batch of rumors is making the rounds today. Here’s one rumormonger’s rundown of Q3-4 from GW:

via Squiggly (DISQUS) 5-17-2016

  • Rubics tail end of year, C.S.M revamp next. As others and I have said before.
  • There’s not really any room this year. You have two lots of Heresy stuff, the first of which I think is soon. Although perhaps abit later than I was originally expecting. I heard the next 2 weeks of May are; ST Expansion and then the RoB board. So I don’t think there coming this month, April-May just referred to the rules. I thought they’d drop with the rules but obviously not. Unless they come right at the start of the June, but I don’t think that would work… On top of that; Fenris pt 2, AoS 2nd edition/3 ways to play/whatever you want to call it, Slyvaneth, Metal Duardin, A mountain of Tzeentch releases. As a GUESS maybe they’ll get a repack for Chaos marines.
  • That’s not even counting in for new codex launches for Genestealer Cults and Deathwatch (Not saying there this year, I have no idea atm.) Shadowkin, which will later tie into Slaanesh stuff. On top of that, more Greenskins, a Summer Campaign. I don’t even think all that is going to fit in this year. Nevermind a CSM release, maybe a quick slapdash codex at most.
  • -Disclaimer: Releases are not necessarily listed in order.
  • – 2nd Disclaimer- I haven’t actually heard the Heresy stuff isn’t coming this month either. I just know the Battle Board is coming and I can’t see them releasing that and Heresy in the same week.
  • …AoS 2nd ed (It’s not called 2nd ed, just my name for it) should drop mid-late June, Slyvaneth straight after leading into July, then the Summer campaign.
  • So that’s a very large set of releases for 6 months. All of these have been mentioned in the past except for Shadowkin. In no particular order this list it covers the following. We have bolded the items that have been 100% confirmed via photographs.
40K:
  • Warzone Fenris Pt.2
  • Rubric Marines
  • CSM Revamp
  • Codex Genestealer Cults
  • Codex Deathwatch
Age of Sigmar:
  • General’s Handbook
  • Realm of Battle Board
  • Summer Campaign
  • Sylveneth (editor’s note: these are the next AoS faction – more on them soon)…
  • Steelhead Duardin
  • Tzeentch stuff
  • Shadowkin
What do you reckon? Personally I'm waiting for pictures... until then is only guessing...

The biggest product of the week is the packs of 60 32mm scenic bases! That is a really aggressive pricing move, aimed right at the heart of the rebasing aftermarket. Go do some comparison shopping out there for 32mm bases and see.

About the new crates I'm probably going to get a box just because I thought the kit was going to make some great terrain and basing materials... And I guess that's all for now. Thank you for your time and hoping to write to you soon.

The Quest Continues and... New 40k 8th Edition this Fall?!

Hello my friends! Get ready because the rumormongers have been talking today. Here’s the first details coming in hot:

You came to the wrong neighbourhood...

There have been a few hints that 40k would be getting a new edition. This comes from a very good source, and while we technically know very little about it, we expect that the rules will be streamlined and cut down some.

This comes from a very solid source that has been accurate for a long time here.

via anonymous sources on Faeit 212
also BoLS has been informed by Mikhael the following

Games Workshop will release a new streamlined 40k Edition in Autumn.

Also this is from our Comment Section
via ytook on Faeit 212 (thank you for relaying what you have heard.)
Btw some interesting tidbits from War of Sigmar comments coming from Warhammer Fest
obviously no way to confirm but the commenter is well known:

'Oh..
Expect 40k to have a shake up later in the year!
"It won't be as drastic as Warhammer, but it will be quite a change."
More stream lined and easier to pick...'

and

'I was talking to Ally Morrison and Andy Dunn (They were near the entrance) I know Andy from a while back and during our chat 40k came up...
Well, about how cumbersome it's become.
Any way.
He said the quote above....
;)'

You may not have noticed but this edition it’s only 2 years old. It came out in May 2014! Personally it's a bit odd since GW is updating all the FAQs over the next month or so, it seems they would still be compatible with a new edition coming out a few months later. So reading between the lines, it is sounding like a tidying up edition, rather than a big re-engineering of the game. So what do you reckon?

One can only hope...

In the meantime I'll let you with a funny review of the 7th edition ...

It has been a while but it's still funny isn't it...

Meanwhile, Black Library had a bunch of upcoming novels to show off at Warhammer Fest – including the next Primarch novel. Guess Who it is? Check it out here!

Back to the Age of Sigmar, Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower is already getting an expansion – Come see the latest Mighty Heroes to take to the board!

Mighty Heroes... with yet another stormcast...

It’s a little hard to read, but it looks like this Might Heroes expansion will be $55. If you do the math for those 4 heroes that comes out to quite a discount!

Maybe Games Workshop is saving on the packaging and passing that discount on to the customer. Maybe they are hoping to move excess product quickly. Maybe this is a ploy to get people collecting more than just their “main” army – each of these Heroes is from a different Sub-Faction of their parent Grand Alliance. Or maybe it’s something else entirely. Either way, it’s quite a discount – and the only place to current purchase the Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord.

Get your wallet’s ready. Here is this week’s 40K, Age of Sigmar and of course – Warhammer Quest goodies!

  • Warhammer Quest Silver Tower Expansion Pack $55

Some quick math shows this first Warhammer Quest expansion pack is a great deal – a 60% savings over buying the figures individually as shown below:

  • Slaughterpriest $30
  • Tzeentch Sorcerer $30
  • Knight-Ventor $40
  • Auric Runemaster $30
  • Space Marine Legends: Cassisus $55
  • Ciaphas Cain Trilogy $75
  • Realmgate Wars: The Great Red $17.50 (orruks)

And for the next week we have not one but two teasers!

Hall of Fame, Army of the Month, Paint Splatter and More!

Time to Get Technical…

It seems GW is closing out their fiscal year with a week of citadel hobby and paint related releases (the Technical range of paint I assume). Thank you for your time and hoping to write to you soon.

What's New Today ...Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower and More

Hello my friends! After about a week, or maybe more, without a word from me, I'm back to business... During the entire week we have been flooded with more and more information about the new Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. Today I bring you a summary of which was released during the week and some new stuff from Forge World!

Back from 1994... but now with a Sigmarine!

This weekend GW is introducing Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower! And the next WD will be a "bumper-sized issue" where you’ll find the complete lowdown on this splendid new boxed game, with Warscrolls for the heroes contained within. That’s right; not only are the heroes great miniatures to play the new game with, but you can field them in Warhammer Age of Sigmar!

There’s also a battle report taking you through the first of the game’s quests and part one of a Paint Splatter showing you how to paint up some of the striking miniatures from the game. But for now all we have are some images and this video of the unboxing!

Oh no, Mormons!

Just kidding... the true unboxing is next!

Those enterprising Texans from FNP Wargamers have a copy of Silver Tower to unbox for us all! It looks like one set of Texans got into a car and drove over to Richmond TX to get the community an unboxing. Enjoy folks!

TADA – Behold the tantalising box in his hands!

Games Workshop is now releasing a brand new edition for this established and well known & recognised game, full with new miniatures and updated game play. This is a re-imaging of a classic game, where the heroes must battle their way through the Silver Tower to defeat the trials set by the Gaunt Summoner. It is a 2-4 player game, with a random game length depending on the table lay-out and the number of players.

The miniatures will be compatible with regular games and the rules for this will be in WD 120 (The heroes) and WD 121 (The bad guys). There will also be a special in-store launch pack with deluxe and limited edition gaming accessories! See photo & details below!

Shiny!

A brand new game in a box, telling the story of a group of mighty heroes battling their way through the Silver Tower. The box contains:

51x brand new highly detailed plastic miniatures, the quality of which there is nothing else like it on the market. Some miniatures are brand new concepts for the army, and will excite many customers! The miniatures have a dynamic single pose and will require glue and assembly (they are not push fit, however easy to put together). The miniatures can be divided into two camps:

The Warhammer Quest Heroes
6x individual Warhammer Quest heroes
Knight Questor – The Paladin (Stormcast Eternal)
Darkoeth Chieftan – The Barbarian (Free People)
Fyreslayer Doomseeker The Dwarf (Dwarf)
Excelsior War priest & Gryph Hound – The header and war priest companion (Free People)
Mistweaver Saith – Female wizard (Aelf)
Tenebrand Shard – The assassin (Aelf)

The Denizens
44x individual Warhammer Quest monsters that live in the Silver Tower. The below list of miniatures make for a great addition or a start of an original Grand Alliance Chaos army!
Gaunt Summoner
Ogroid Traumaturge
2x Skaven Deathrunners
8x Familiars
6x Tzaangors (Beastmen)
8x Kairic Acolytes
2x Pink Horrors
4x Blue Horrors
4x pairs of Brimstone Horrors
8x Grot Scuttlings

Gaming Accessories
A guide book
An adventure quest book
13x Reversible board tiles with different landscapes
6x Hero character cards
36x Skill and treasure cards
40x Exploration (event) cards, to offer even more variation to the game so that each game will be different.
A booklet with assembly instructions
Gaming accessories such as assorted gaming counters and dice sets

The game comes in a high quality rigid box (Dark Vengeance size). The box is full with miniatures and game components and therefore fairly heavy.

These new models look pretty great! I’m glad to see that Tzeentch is getting some love (finally). I’m also really pumped to get a better look at the hero models – we finally get some new Elves (or Aelfs) for Age of Sigmar. I wonder if this will start an Tzeentch Arcanites expansion...

Also today Forge World unveils the new Tau Barracuda AX-5-2 just in time for Warhammer Fest – Come check out this updated Tau Flyer!

Is it... slimmer?!

via Forge World

Right at the last minute, another fantastic model has swooped in! Making a perfect landing just in time for Warhammer Fest is the brand new Tau Barracua AX-5-2, check it out…
Not only has the design of the Barracuda been updated, take a look at all of the new weapon options that come in the kit…
Pew pew!
The new Barracuda will be available first at Warhammer Fest. If want to get hold of this awesome new model before anyone else, then make sure you’re at the event this weekend! Tickets are available on the door, and you can find more information HERE.
And just for comparison sake here is the previous version of the Tau Barracuda:

Old Barracuda...

There isn’t a TON of differences but wings and drone placement are different. The engines also got some fin upgrades. The missile racks also got an overhaul. Couple those changes with all the new weapon options and I think we have a winner!

Speaking of flyers... here's a review of the latest Death From The Skies Supplement...

Apparently every marine chapter gets their version of the new flyers...

And that's all for now. Thank you for your time and hoping to write to you soon.
