Best of 2015 and More....

And so begins 2016... If you picked up WD# 100 this weekend (I didn't) you’ll have read our review of the year, in which we discussed the many GW models, books and hobby products that came out over the course of 2015. And there were a lot of them! Over the course of the year they released 71 new plastic kits, making 92 different units, not to mention countless books, paints, tools, digital products, novels and no less than three new boxed games: Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Assassinorum: Execution Force and The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth...

But what was your favourite miniature of 2015? With so many to choose from, it's going to be a tough call…

In 2014 the Imperial Knight was voted miniature of the year. Will the Imperial Knight Warden uphold the honour this year?

To help decide what should be the greatest Citadel miniature of 2015, GW is asking all of us to make a list of your top five models (favourite being number 1) and send them to team@whitedwarf.co.uk before midnight on January 10th, wich result will be publish them some time in the new year.

Here are some examples that I reckon will be in those lists, by month:

Januray -  Verminlord                                                                February - Solitaire

March - Khorne Bloodthirster                                                      April - Eversor Assassin

May -  Imperial Knight Gallant                                                     June - DA Interrogator-Chaplain

Jully -  Vandus Hammerhand                                                    August - Celestant Prime

September - Skarbrand                                            October - KV128 Stormsurge

November - HH Captain in Terminator Armour                      December - Archaon Everchosen

Of course this is only my opinion, and most likely you will have other opinions ... Personally I am more inclined to vote in Archaon... what about you?

But the new year starts also with a chance for you starting a new army, with 12 (actually) great-value boxed sets available to pre-order today, six each for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
"Pick your poison"

As you can see, there's quite a range of starter forces available, including Astra Militarum, Seraphon, Necrons and Greenskinz to name but a few. All the models are plastic – brilliant if you're new to building Citadel miniatures – and all the kits include construction booklets for all the models. Inside, you'll also find an exclusive datasheet (Warhammer 40,000) or warscroll battalion (Warhammer Age of Sigmar) for using your models on the battlefield.

I guess they're all great, depending on which army you like and/or want to start, with a price tag of £50 (not £57 as I once said...), but personally I'm looking for the Tau and Warriors of Chaos (Now called Slaves to Darkness for reasons...). But those aren't the only new releases!

Games Workshop is "offering" the non-Tau parts of Mont’ka & Kauyon as stand alone digital supplements ...Were you looking for the Marine and Astra Militarum Supplements but didn’t want to purchase Mont’ka or Kauyon books? Well GW has a solution for you – as long as you go digital!
